Apart from the kangling and dungchen, drums form a vital part of the monastic orchestra. The drums pictured here are the Nga - a ceremonial drum. The Nga are attached to a small piece of wood, which can either be held in one's hand, or, placed on the ground. The drummer makes his music by beating the drum with a long, curved beater fashioned in the shape of a question mark. |
