India: View from The City Palace, Udaipur
All roads may or may not lead to Rome, but all roads do lead to The City Palace - at least in Udaipur.

The erstwhile capital of the kingdom of Mewar, Udaipur is known as "the city of lakes & palaces". Its skyline of whitewashed havelis, temple spires & elaborately carved balconies (pictured here) set around the famed Pichola Lake is a sight to behold.
Described as "the most diversified & most romantic spot on the continent of India" (Col. James Todd, Annals & Antiquities of Rajasthan - 1829), Udaipur was the setting of the James Bond Movie Octopussy.
